'Twas the Week Before Christmas...

'Twas the week before Christmas and all though ViVi G...
Not a customer was leaving without a shopping bag, not even me.

The shoes and boots were a shining and the bags all aglow,
with the hope that they soon would get a new home.

The jewels were a sparkling and glistening with light,
as the ViVi G. Girls were cleaning them at night.

Ruby Star had her jacket on tight,
as the weather was starting to become a cold fright.

When all of a sudden a big shipment arrived!
With even more shoes, bags, and a big suprise!

Sales were a starting,
Resort was arriving!

Customers were writing their wishlists with smiles,
as husbands were home drowning in their sorrows!

Husbands came in with their eyes all a wide,
with no clue what to do not even quite!

The ViVi G. girls were there with the answers,
as the Wishlists were passed out and the husbands were enamored!

A Rebecca Minkoff Bag? A boot?
Wow, she really wants a lot of loot!

With a sparkle in their eye we ushered them out,
knowing that this gift was going to be perfect...no doubt!

The ViVi G. Girls smiled and laughed with a chuckle,
as they closed the front door and watched the husband drive out of sight...

It's a Private Matter

"Oh, how fun! You made your own handbags!"

Yea. Let me tell you girls, this was no easy feat.
It's true, anyone can "design" a handbag.
But, ViVi G.'s are good.
I mean real good.

You see, Sherri, (my nino) ventured to Italy.
Side note, Sherri has been spotted laying out on the Amalfi Coast and perusing the shopping districts of Milan.
But.
Not this time.
No.
This time she was all business.
Again, she tried speaking Italian to communicate to the old Italian men EXACTLY how she wanted her handbags designed.
Again, she was shot down; agreeing to communicate via drawings.
Yes.
Drawings and heavy sign signals to signify the shape of her bags, color of her leathers, and the exact hardware she requested for easy access getting into the bags (we all know this is of the utmost importance, don't we girls?)

She did not leave until every handbag was exactly to her specific requirements.
Yes, she took a break and had wine with the old Italian men.
Yes, she made sure they were sober before hand making the handbags.

Sherri wanted to have a handbag in the store that was unique.
Not in the shopping malls.
Not really anywhere in all of the land!
Sher wanted an unbeatable price point that could not be beat.
And she did so by going directly to her factory.
A very small factory in the hills of Tuscany where old Italian men sit and hand craft handbags the old fashioned way.
She did this, because she loves her fashionista customers.
Okay.
And because she really really really likes Italian handbags.
and Italian wine for that matter.

So, to make a long story short(er).
The parties this week launching our private label bags are not to be missed.

A Fashionista Bed Time Story...

What exactly is resort?
Well, I like to think of them as "vaca" shoes....and for some it's almost like a spring preview.

Let's start with a story...

Once Upon a Time in the Land of Fashion...

It has been told, that many a fashionista, towards the end of fall, will begin their search for "resort" and "early spring" shoes and sandals.
These fashionista's may already have their new fall attire.
Some of these fashionista's may not have purchased their winter jacket yet.
They may not have even seen the first snow of the season.
They may not even have their plans for Thanksgiving set.
But.
They are ready and waiting with their "resort" shoes.
It's almost like a "secret society."
The fashionista's are on the prowl.
They NEED to know the new trends for coming months.
They may even act like they're looking at the incredible selection of boots at ViVi G.
But.
Their eyes start to wonder to the white shelves with the pastel colored pumps and open-toed sandals.
Waiting.
Wishing.
Wanting the warmth of their vacation spot or the end of February where the sun begins to shine a bit brighter.
So, this is Resort.
A hope.
A glimmer.
A happy thought of something to look forward to.

The moral of the story is, stores everywhere are starting to get resort in...
But ViVi G. Shoes has the best in all the land.

And the fashionista's lived happily ever after.... : )

Skinny Minnie!

Here's the Skinny....

One of mommy's first ever buying trips for ViVi G. SHOES was to get Suzi Roher belts. Once in the showroom, it was like a shopaholic's dream. Belts of every color, pattern, texture, and material hanging everywhere! Not to mention you can customize your own. So needless to say, she was there for a while.
What's so great about Suzi Roher belts? Why this brand? Well, it happens to make you look good.
Really good.
And what fashionista doesn't want an accessory that adds pizzazz and slims the bod?
Umm no one I know.

Each belt, excluding the hammered metal (which happens to be just fabulous and lay very smooth), includes elastic. This brilliant invention has created another entity of the wearers of belts. Smooths your mid section and makes everyone have a waist.
Place the thicker ones on your waist over a blouse, sweater, or tank and the thinner ones through or over your belt loops for a chic look.
The original belt has ovals, but it didn't stop there...

Everyone Loves a Good Deal....

Sorry so MIA girls, but I was very busy in NYC last week! Mommy & Nino (Jen & Sherri) and I had a wonderful time and boy oh boy did we get some serious merchandise for holiday, resort, and spring. We went to my mommy's favorite restaurant, Pastis, in SoHo. I enjoyed some steak frites with the perfect amount of bernaise...and the most fantastic dessert ever- sticky toffee pudding with ice cream for dessert. I usually try to stay healthy, but I cheated a bit. You have to let yourself splurge sometimes...

En Vogue

While lounging on the deck overlooking the beautiful Atlantic Ocean with September Vogue in hand I've decided to put together a little "Cheat sheet" of the most important fall trends for my ViVi G. Girls:

I've simplified it into categories to make your lives a bit easier when shopping for your fall ensembles.

Colors:

• CAMEL (VIP color, gigantic, HUGE...get a camel sweater/scarf/coat/boot...whatever the accessory just get it).
• Army green (I enjoy this color in a handbag as it is easily adaptable to all of your neutral clothing and shoes)
• Cobalt (obsessed. Mommy has this color on her nails right now). Pop it with a handbag or a piece of jewelry showcasing this romantic and sexy color. BTW- this looks GREAT with red. Watch Sex and the City and you'll see lots of this combo.
• Leopard & Cheetah print EVERYTHING. Don't overdue it at one time. Choose one piece in your outfit that displays this print. You don't need to look like Jane of the Jungle. Purrrrrrrr.

• Black. (duh)

Shoes

• itty bitty kitten heels with pointy toes for the elegant yet chic woman.
• thick high heels for the wild woman.
• loafers of all sorts

Peep-Toes and No No's...

Here at ViVi G. Shoes we are a big fan of peep-toes.
Be it flats, mid heels, high heels, or boots; we love them all.
Now a very common question has risen recently.

Can I wear peep-toes all year 'round?
Do it.
Do it proudly.
DON'T DO IT WITH SOCKS.
DON'T EVER DO PEEP TOE'S WITH SOCKS.
Fashion faux pas.
Do it with leggings, trousers, or denim on those mild days.
Keep them indoors on the cold ones.
If you enjoy being trendy, edgy, and want your inner rock star to come out... Then by all means wear a dark tight with your high heeled peep toe.

But, if I see you walking around with a white sock of any sort...
The fashion police will be called.
And you may or may not find yourself on "What Not to Wear"

Our Space on Worth Avenue!


Clare Luxury....our newest fall handbag arrival.

Two major things happened this weekend.

First, I was fixed.
I have had it with men.
Who needs them when you've got cute accessories anyways?

Second thing.
The big surprise it out!
ViVi G. SHOES is opening on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach, FL.
We are having a big grand opening soiree in November.
That reminds me, what should I wear?
We JUST got the most amazing handbags in...Clare Luxury.
They remind me of Bottega Veneta, but the price tag? MUCH lower.
I'm talking, the most expensive style is $448.

Well girls, I am laying in the shelf in Wayne (see "About me.")
Just by looking at all the new shipments that just arrived, it seems as though fall is just around the corner.

Mmm I can smell the leather of the Frye Boots now!

Gladiators, tassels, & trends ... OH MY!

We get this question A LOT in the stores, "Are gladiators in next season?" Yes ...kind of, they are a bit modified, which is how we like to keep it at ViVi G. We like to be called fashion forward with a conservative edge. For example, instead of having a gladiator that ties up, down, all around, and up the leg, we like to keep it a bit more simple with a few straps and maybe some light tassels, which happen to be very "posh" and have you know, this adorable trend continues into the fall. As shown above --BCBG MaxAzria "Alexia", which by the way is on SUPER SALE (we only have two sizes left, feel free to call the girls if you are interested). Chic, trendy, and in a very versatile color...and with some super cute tassels.

Tassels are a whole other entity.

Girls, if you have an item with tassels, that's it. You don't need a handbag, jacket, and shoes with tassels. This isn't the wild west here. Pair a cute shoe like the one above with white jeans and white tee. Or a great Rebecca Minkoff bag with some tassel details and keep the outfit simple with nude flats or neutral mid heel, denim skinny's, and crisp blouse.

To conclude my excerpt for this evening, I would like to quote one of my idols, the amazing
Coco Chanel.

It's Ruby Star.

So, ViVi G. Girls, ever wonder who's behind all the fashion happenings that go on in ViVi G. shoes?

Well, it's me. A 7.3 pound Havanese named Ruby Star.

I take turns lounging in my hot pink cheetah bed in the Glen Eagle store and the bottom shelf of our wrapping station in Wayne.

I am notorious for leaving treats in my mommy's Kate Spade heels.

I prefer steak over chicken and those lovely organic lollipops from Whole Foods.

But.

Most of all,

I like shoes.

And,

I know a good heel from a bad.

After all,

I was a shop dog in a very fabulous shoe boutique starting at the tender age of 12 weeks.

So.

You can say,

I really know my accessories.

And,

I can walk the walk.

And,

I can talk the talk.
